The 1000 miles is a legendary race that crossed our peninsula for thirty years, from 1927 to 1957, making all Italians, others too, dream. It's impossible for car lovers to remain immune to this re-enactment, this thrilling life experience: a stage race that winds from Brescia to Rome to then return to the starting point, and that runs through some of the most fascinating Italian roads.
The first car will start on May 15th at 2.00pm. In the first stage with a final in Milano Marittima, the participants will go through Desenzano, Sirmione, Valeggio sul Mincio, Mantova, Ferrara, Comacchio and Ravenna. On the second day the route will continue through Cesenatico, Urbino, Senigallia, Fabriano, Assisi, Terni, Rieti and will reach Rome. On Friday the historic cars will face the northward ascent, along Lake Vico and through Viterbo, Castiglione d'Orcia, Siena, Vinci, Montecatini, Pistoia, Florence in an artistic and evocative procession, to then glide along the splendid Passo della Fuca and Raticosa, to reach Bologna. The last day, the caravan will pass through the land of the engines, Emilia Romagna, touching Modena, Reggio Emilia, Langhirano and Parma, and then continuing towards Cremona, Montichiari and Travagliato, until reaching Brescia. Here the commemoration will end with the traditional parade drive in Viale Venezia.
Who will partecipate in 1000 Miglia 2019?
The 1000 Miglia is a very scrupulous re-enactment: the only cars allowed to participate in the race are those same models that actually took part in the 1000 Miglia historical race from 1929 to 1959. Each participating car will have an evaluation (which will then be added to the results of tender) based on the model, on the date of its design and on its technical and sporting characteristics.
Who’s it for?
For all vintage car lovers, for everyone who loves car races, but also for all those who cannot resist the charm of cars that have made a great contribution to the history of Italy. Seeing them dart through some of the most beautiful streets and cities of art in Italy is a unique opportunity not to be missed.
